Suffocated in the Dark

We may yet contemplate the emergent beauty...

 min read time

I saw a dude today

His hair was all wrong.

Why would you do that

To yourself, I asked

Of no one. I thought

For one small instant

That I should say something

Clever. A brief silence

Was kind enough

To prevail.

Every action might be

Judged against its own absence

So that even when we are tempted

To observe and celebrate

The foul organism

Of our own cruelty

We may yet contemplate

The emergent beauty

Of an ugly impulse

Suffocated in the dark
